Objective To explore the clinical application value of concealed penis reconstruction using the subtyping criteria guided by ultrasound detection. Methods Collect clinical data of 30 cases who were diagnosed with concealed penis and underwent ultrasound at the First Affiliated Hospital of Ningbo University from August 2022 to July 2023.Patients were divided into mild-moderate group and moderate-severe group based on the ratio of internal penile length to external penile length. The operation was performed using the dorsal longitudinal incision of the penile subtyping in the mild-moderate group and the ventral longitudinal incision of the penile subtyping in the moderate-severe group. The surgical time, surgical efficacy, and complications were compared between two groups. Results Clear external and internal penile sonograms were obtained using superficial or abdominal probes in both groups.Patients in both groups were satisfied with the postoperative penile exposure, with no recurrence, persistent phimosis, penile hematoma,or residual constricting ring of the foreskin. The surgical time was longer in the moderate-severe group than in the mild-moderate group. Conclusion Preoperative superficial and abdominal probe combined detection for subtyping concealed penis patients helps in selecting the surgical approach.Concealed penis reconstruction using the ventral longitudinal incision of the penile subtyping with scrotal skin coverage in severe concealed penis patients showed satisfactory postoperative efficacy and fewer complications, and it has clinical significance for promotion.
