Clinical efficacy of scraping therapy for sleep related penile painful erection
Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effects of scraping treatment on the number of painful nocturnal erections,pain,sleep and psychological status in patients with sleep related penile painful erection.Methods Twenty-one patients with sleep related penile painful erection who were admitted to department of andrology of our hospital from February 2021 to February 2023 were enrolled in the study.The demographic and clinical data,Changhai pain rating scale,number of abnormal erections,symptom check list-90(SCL-90)and Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI)were collected from all patients.Scraping-based individualized treatments were perfomed according to their respective conditions.All patients were followed up at 1 day,1 week,2 weeks,1 month and 6 months after treatment for determining the number of painful nocturnal erections,pain,sleep and psychological status.Results(1)After 1 day,1 month,and 6 months of intervention,patients exhibited significant improvements in their scores on the patient PSQI,pain scores,and the frequency of abnormal erections,as well as a decrease in their SCL-90 scores(P<0.05).(2)After1 week of the intervention,both PSQI and the frequency of abnormal erections displayed significant improvement(P<0.05).(3)After2 weeks,all of these measures,including PSQI,pain,and abnormal erections were improved significantly(P<0.05).Conclusion Scraping-based individualized treatment could effectively improve the number of painful nocturnal erections,pain,sleep and psychological status of the patients with sleep related painful penile painful erections,which could be used as an important measure for clinical adjuvant treatment.
