Exploring the relationship between disease uncertainty of prostate cancer and quality of life based on psychological support and help seeking attitude
Objective To explore the relationship between disease uncertainty and quality of life in patients with prostate cancer based on a mediating effect analysis of psychological support and help seeking attitude.Methods 90 patients with prostate cancer were enrolled,and the uncertainty of disease,quality of life and attitude to help seeking were evaluated.The relationships between each two scores were analyzed.The mediation effect analysis was conducted.Results Patients had a strong sense of uncertainty about their illness,poor quality of life,and a negative attitude towards seeking psychological support and assistance.The uncertainty of disease was able to negatively predict the quality of life,psychological support and help seeking attitude.The uncertainty of different diseases and the attitude of psychological support for help were statistically significant in predicting the quality of life(P<0.05).Psychological support and help seeking attitude played a mediating role between uncertainty of disease and quality of life.Conclusion Prostate cancer patients have a strong sense of disease uncertainty,poor quality of life,and negative attitudes towards psychological support and seeking help,which are correlated.Psychological support and seeking help attitudes have a mediating effect between disease uncertainty and quality of life.
