Analysis on Energy Transition in the First Global Stocktake Output
Energy transition(ET)is the most important part in the outputs of first Global Stocktake(GST)under Paris Agreement. The relevant decision makes arrangement on the principles, direction and pathway, key fields, technology choices and concrete measures of ET,based on the consensus, releasing clear and positive signals to countries and international energy markets. The ET practices in China have provided basis for these consensuses, and the decision is also corresponding to China's existing policies. As differentiated national circumstance, the speed of ET in each country might be different, but the direction should be kept consistent with GST decision. In the"14th-Five-Year Plan"period, the outstanding achievements in ET have been observed in China, however, the challenges are standing on the way.Led by"carbon-peak and carbon-neutrality"strategy,China should continue to implement Paris Agreement actively by deepening internal consensus and promoting the ET process further.
