Atopic dermatitis(AD)is a chronic,recurrent and inflammatory skin disease,which is referred to as"infantile eczema"or"Siwanfeng(ectopic eczema)"in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).Because it is often comorbid with atopic diseases,psychiatric disorders,metabolic syndrome,growth retardation and cardiovascular diseases,AD is not only a skin disease,but also a systemic disease.This article analyses the mechanism of AD in relation to comorbidities,and discusses the pathogenesis and the treatment experience of comorbidityies from the perspective of TCM,in order to provide new ideas for the clinical treatment of AD.
