Analysis of Lifestyle Habits and the Influencing Factors of Rosacea in 435 Patients
Objective To investigate the relationship between lifestyle habits and the onset of rosacea in 435 patients, and to identify the key factors affecting the onset of rosacea,in order to provide practical guidance for prevention and control of the disease. Methods This study used a questionnaire survey and clinical interview method, and used dermatology quality of life index(DLQI),Skindex-16,European quality of life five dimension five level questionaire(EQ-5D-5L),self-rating anxiety scale(SAS),self-rating depression scale(SDS)and Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI)multi-dimensional scoring system to evaluate the basic information, clinical features, quality of life and aggravating factors of 435 rosacea patients.Statistical analysis of the collected data was used to reveal the potential connection between lifestyle habits and the onset of rosacea. Results This study predominantly analyzed 435 female patients with an average age of(40.97±11.34)years and a disease duration of(2.94±0.87)years.The main types of rosacea were erythematotelangiectatic rosacea(ETR)and papulopustular rosacea(PPR),with lesions primarily occurring on the cheeks(72.18%)and nose(64.37%).Most patients had moderate severity in erythema(66.06%)and overall condition(86.67%).DLQI,Skindex-16,SAS,and SDS indicated significant impacts on quality of life and health status. The EQ-5D-5L and VAS scores indicated that the overall health level of the patient was close to moderate, but anxiety or depression symptoms were common(49.86%).While some patients reported good sleep quality,a few faced severe sleep disturbances.Further analysis showed significant associations between rosacea severity and seasonal factors(temperature variations, sunlight, high temperatures),lifestyle habits(excessive exercise, emotional stress, alcohol consumption),menstrual cycle, cosmetic use,and spicy food intake(P<0.05).Multivariate logistic regression confirmed these factors(OR>1,P<0.05)as risk factors for rosacea severity. Conclusion Patients with rosacea experience a certain degree of decline in health-related quality of life, psychological distress, and differences in sleep quality.Seasonal factors such as temperature variations, sunlight, and high temperatures,as well as lifestyle habits including excessive exercise, alcohol consumption, cosmetic use,and spicy food intake, are closely related to the severity of the disease.
