An Interpretation of Undergraduates'Interdisciplinary Examination Behavior Phenomenon:Perspectives on Comparison with the Ideal Learner
The core of first-class undergraduate education is the quality of learning, and the learning problems of undergraduates'interdisciplinary examina-tion cannot be ignored.Based on in-depth interviews with 15 interdisciplinary graduate school students who changed major when taking part in postgraduate en-trance examination,we summarized the specific characteristics of interdisciplinary graduate students in terms of learning engagement through thematic analysis and content analysis and compared them with ideal learners.Firstly, the phenomenon of undergraduate interdisciplinary examination behavior was inevitable;Secondly, the subgroups of"utilitarian"and"academic"students were found in the inter-disciplinary graduate school, and the gap between the"utilitarian"students and the ideal learners was larger;Thirdly, special attention needs to be paid to"in-voluntary attendance"and students'"avoidance engagement".Therefore, more ideal learners should be molded through the undergraduate education system;a more diversified and scientific selection method for graduate education should be explored;and graduate education should pay more attention to the personalized training of"academic"interdisciplinary graduate students.
