On the Historical Materialist Foundation of Humanistic Economics in the New Era
The study of Humanistic Economics in the New Era requires considerable theoretical con-struction.We need to clarify the materialist historical foundation of the Humanistic Economics in the New Era in order to accurately define its Marxist source and differentiate it from Western hu-manistic economics. We also need to explain the phenomena of cultural and economic development in different regions. The difficulty confronting this task is how to reasonably explain the core proposi-tion of Humanistic Economics in the New Era,namely the bidirectional driving and symbiotic rela-tionship between culture and economy in the framework of historical materialism theory,so as to a-void contradicting the basic principle of economy determining culture and the intellectual trap of Western industrial economics merely regarding culture as a factor for capital accumulation. To solve this problem,it is necessary to explore how global changes and transformations have created new changes and new features economically and culturally and how they have developed a new economic form of humanistic economy. This article proposes a historical analysis of the contemporary trans-formation of global economy, the economic form of Chinese modernization, and the relationship be-tween these two.It shows that, based on the theoretical ground of historical materialism, the Hu-manistic Economics in the New Era is not only rooted in the historical reality of the current era,but is also lodged in long-term human development.
