The Chinese potato market in 2023 has 3 significant characteristics:high potato price in early stage,year-on-year price on the lower side in later stage,and annual prices at their highest in nearly 10 years,etc.It is expected that the potato market prices in 2024 will be generally lower than that in 2023.At present,there are still existed problems noteworthy in China's potato industry,including unbalanced industrial development,urgent improvement of processing level and insufficient protection of regional public brands,etc.In order to further promote the upgrading of China's potato industry,it is suggested that local governments of various regions to implement targeted support policies,accelerate the in-depth development of whole industrial chain,and strengthen protection of regional public brands.
