The distribution characteristics of the communities of Reaumuria songarica and Salsola passerina in steppified desert area
To investigate the main environmental factors affecting the spatial distribution of the communities of Reaumuria soongarica and Salsola passerina, the spatial distribution patterns of plant species and their relationships with environmental factors were analyzed using the point pattern analysis method and redundancy analysis(RDA).The results show that the spatial aggregation of R.soongarica populations and S.passerina populations weakens at the locations where multi-year average precipitation decreases, transforming to a random distribution trend and showing an adaptive strategy of gradually weakening intra-species facilitation relationships.Inter-species associa-tions also show that the facilitation relationships between species gradually weaken with the decrease of precipitation. After eliminating habitat heterogeneity, the R.soongarica and S.passerina populations are randomly distributed at a scale of>30 m,and the populations are independent of each other.Spatial correlation is negative overall, and interspecific relationships are competitive and tend to become uncorrelated with decreasing precipitation. The re-dundancy analysis indicates that the main factors leading to the differences in vegetation characteristics of the com-munities are climate, soil, and altitude. Therefore, when formulating more effective conservation measures for desert shrub diversity,we should not only consider the characteristics of the vegetation itself, but also strengthen the protection of the desert soil environment.
