Preliminary Attempt to Construct the Technical Regulation of Desert Cataloging
The main purpose of the desert cataloging is to collect,sort,and record the main characteristic data of each desert,and then formulate unified desert cataloging technical regulation.Based on the interpretation of the significance and purpose of the desert cataloguing,this paper clearly defined the three big ecosystem-types of desert,sandy land,and gobi,which are the main concepts of desert cataloging.Furthermore this paper also put forward the tentative plan from the three aspects of desert cataloging data sources,coding standards,and cataloging content according to the desert cataloging standard.This paper tentatively and firstly put forward China's major desert,sandy land,and gobi code list,according to desert (sandy land,gobi) categories,the natural terrain,the administrative area,and the numbers of the four parts of the composition principle,with letters and Arabic Numerals combination of representation method.
