Characteristics of Microorganisms and Enzyme Activity under Two Plant Communities in Desert Steppe
Soil microbial quantities, microbial biomass and enzyme activity of desert steppe ecosystem under different plant communities in desert steppe in Jinchang,Gansu,China were studied in this paper. The results showed that the changes tendency of soil microbial quantities, microbial biomass C,N and enzyme activity of community dominated by Kalidium foliatum were much higher than that of the community dominated by Alhagi sparsifolia, while the microbial biomass P opposite. The number of soil microbial (bacteria and actinomycetes),microbial biomass (C,N,P) and enzyme activity decreased with the soil depth in vegetation coverage,The soil urease showed a "high-low-high-low" trend and maximum fungus in the subsurface layer of soil in community of A.sparsifolia grassland.Meanwhile, the result of correlation analysis indicated that there were significant correlation among soil microbial quantities, soil microbial biomass and soil enzyme activity.
