Grain size and element differentiation during aeolian processe in Otindag Sandy Land
In order to explore the differentiation and relationship between soil particle size and chemical ele-ments during aeolian processes in Otindag Sandy Land, and to provide data and theoretical support for ecological governance and vegetation restoration in arid areas, this study analyzed the characteristics of grain size grada-tion,grain size distribution frequency curve and grain size parameters of wind eroded sediment at different wind speeds,as well as the changes of elemental content of wind eroded sediment through wind tunnel tests. The re-sults show that the relationship between soil wind erosion rate and wind speed follows an exponential law,and the particle size distribution of wind eroded sediment is unimodal. The average particle size of wind eroded sedi-ment at different wind speeds is between 2.46 Φ and 2.58Φ,and the sorting of the sediment is extremely posi-tive,and the peak state is very wide as well. The changes of elemental content in wind eroded sediment with wind speed mainly include three types, namely, continuous decrease type,"W"decrease type, and rise-and-fall type. Most of the elemental content has a significant positive correlation with the<125 μm portion of wind erod-ed sediment, and a significant negative correlation with the 125-500 μm portion.
