During the Spring and Autumn Period,Xiangtan belonged to the Qianzhong county of Chu State.During the Warring States Period,Changsha county was separated from Qianzhong county and included the whole territory of Xiangtan.As an important part of Chu culture,Xiangtan has a deep foundation of local culture among which lacquer art is also an indispensable part.By interviewing with the old Xiangtan lacquer artists and sorting the oral data,,this paper discusses the survival,evolution,development path and process of Xiangtan lacquer art through the oral history perspective.
