Lacquer mask is a kind of special burial articles in the tomb that appeared in the middle of the Western Han Dynasty and reached its peak from the late Western Han Dynasty to the Wang Mang's Xin Dynasty period.Its rise was related to the religious belief in ancient China.There were three main types of lacquer masks in the Han Dynasty,and their use and decoration were related to the identity of the tomb owner and the tomb grade.They were usually made of thick wooden tires,and some of them used thin wooden tires for mounting cloth and ramie tires.Its decorative style is rich and colorful,mainly using lacquer painting and pastel technology,through exaggerated form to express mythological patterns,meaning bless the tomb owner to lead the ascension of immortality.
