Pseudomonas is a large genus known for its wide spreading in natural habitats, including soil, water, and its association with plants and animals.Members of Pseudomonas genus produce a long list of secondary metabolites during their adaption of environmental changes.Antibiotics produced by Pseudomonas spp.facilitate bacterial colonization in the competition against the indigenous microbial community, and function as major components for biocontrol agents to suppress plant diseases in agricultural environments. This article introduces the characteristics and action model of antibiotics produced by Pseudomonas, their biological functions in different concentrations, and the commercial application of these antibiotics in agriculture and medicine.
