Biological Activity and Influence Mechanism of Three Plant Derived Compounds on Oedaleus decorus asiaticus
Oedaleus decorus asiaticus is one of the important pests on grassland. The mechanism and the biological activity of the petroleum extract from Stellera.chamaejasme roots, azadirachtin and thymol to the third instar of O.decorus asiaticus were measured in this paper. The results showed that the toxicity of the three plant derived compounds to O.decorus asiaticus was antifeedant activity>stomach activity>contact activity. The median antifeedant concentration(AFC50)of petroleum ether extract from S.chamaejasme root, thymol and azadirachtin on the third instar of O.decorus asiaticus was 433.97 mg/L,183.35 mg/L and 86.47 mg/L respectively, and the median lethal concentration(LC50)of stomach activity was 7976.33 mg/L,269.65 mg/L and 341.07 mg/L respectively at 48 h.The contact activities of the three plant derived compounds were small relatively. The activities of ATPase and AChE in vitro of the third instar of O.decorus asiaticus were inhibited by the three plant derived compounds, and the inhibition increased with the increasing of the concentrations, but the inhibition rate was not more than 50%.The activity of GSTs and cytochrome P450 of the third instar of O.decorus asiaticus increased, but the activity of CarE was inhibited after treatment of 48 h.The results showed that O.decorus asiaticus could be controlled by three plant derived compounds, and antifeedant activity was the most. The three plant derived compounds can be developed in controling O.decorus asiaticus in the future.
