Antibacterial Effect and Mechanism of Bacillus siamensis JZ 1-4-10 on Dry Rot Disease of Potato
In order to obtain biocontrol bacteria with good antagonistic effect against potato dry rot,we screened a Bacillus siamensis strain JZ1-4-10 from four Bacillus strains and investigate effects of fermentation solution of strain JZ1-4-10 on potato dry rot and related defense enzyme activity.Indoor biocontrol experiments showed that among the 4 strains, strain JZ1-4-10 demonstrated the highest antifungal activity, with the inhibition rate of 59.15%,and its fermentation solution exhibited inhibition rates of 61.25%against Fusarium solanum. In addition, strain JZ1-4-10 treatment effectively improved the potato defense enzyme SOD and POD activities, reduced PPO enzyme activity and MDA content, and maintained the quality of potato during storage. The prevention mode effect of potato dry rot was better than that of the treatment mode and deactivation mode, which was up to 85.17%.Moreover,its bacterial suspension and volatile organic compounds had high antibacterial activity, and the strain had strong biofilm formation ability.Thus,B.siamese JZ1-4-10 showed great potential for inhibiting potato dry rot and could be further developed into biocontrol agent.
