Effect of abdominal muscle contraction on pelvic floor muscle contraction ability
Objective To observe the effect of abdominal muscle contraction on pelvic floor muscle contraction ability. Methods From February 2023 to September 2023,a total of 171 postpartum women who underwent pelvic floor function examination in Henan Provincial People's hospital were selected.Phenix U2 was used to measure the vaginal pressure at rest and peak dynamic pressure under different muscle contraction modes. The increase in vaginal dynamic pressure(△3)when pelvic and abdominal muscles were contracted at the same time was compared with the sum of the increase in the pressure when abdominal muscles and pelvic floor muscles were contracted respectively(△ 1+△2).Measure the pelvic floor muscle potential, and compare the peak potential when the pelvic and abdominal muscles were contracted at the same time with that when the pelvic floor muscles were contracted alone. Results The pressure at rest, peak vaginal dynamic pressure during contraction of abdominal muscles alone, contraction of pelvic floor muscles alone and contraction of pelvic and abdominal muscles at the same time were 52.00(8.00)mmHg,57.00(8.00)mmHg,60.00(10.00)mmHg and 67.00(14.00)mmHg respectively.△3 was greater than △ 1+△2(Z=-10.104,P<0.01).The peak pelvic floor muscle potential was 14.00(6.00)µV and 21.00(10.00)μV when the pelvic floor muscles were contracted alone and the pelvic and abdominal muscles were contracted at the same time, and the difference between them was statistically significant(Z=-8.947,P<0.01).Conclusion The simultaneous contraction of abdominal muscles during pelvic floor muscle training can increase vaginal pressure and improve pelvic floor muscle potential.Contraction of abdominal muscles is more conducive to the contraction of pelvic floor muscles,so it is not necessary to relax abdominal muscles during pelvic floor muscle training.
