Monitoring uterine contractions during labor is crucial for the progress of delivery and the safety of the mother and baby.The initiation and maintenance of regular uterine contractions during the delivery process are formed by the interaction of hormones,machinery and electrical activity.The mechanism is complex,and there are many influencing factors,which have not been fully elucidated.At present,there are still many shortcomings and controversies in the monitoring methods related to uterine contractions used in clinical practice.Obstetrical medical personnel and pregnant women all need non-invasive,simple,and accurate monitoring methods of uterine contractions.This article provides an overview of recent research achievements in this field,exploring the monitoring of uterine contractions and future research directions from clinical and physiological perspectives,and guiding clinical practice.
