Evaluation and management of intestinal com-plications following pelvic floor reconstruction surgery
Pelvic organ prolapse(POP)seriously affects women's physical and mental health.Pelvic floor re-construction surgery is the main treatment procedure for moderate-to-severe POP.However,due to the complex anatomy of the pelvic floor,the surgery is prone to causing the intestinal complications.A com-prehensive understanding of postoperative intestinal complications after pelvic floor reconstruction surgery,and taking effective measures to evaluate and manage them are the keys to improving the safety of surgery and improving the prognosis.This article mainly describes the evaluation and management of postoperative in-testinal complications after pelvic floor reconstruction surgery,including gastrointestinal dysfunction,intes-tinal injury & fistula,intestinal obstruction,mesh erosion of the intestinal tract,and new-onset consti-pation.
