Pelvic organ prolapse recurrence and mesh ex-posure following sacrocolpopexy
Sacrocolpopexy(SC)is currently recognized as the"gold standard"surgical procedure for treating apical prolapse(Ⅰ-level defect).During the operation,a mesh is used to suspend and fix the prolapsed vaginal tip or cervix onto the anterior longitudinal ligament of the sacrum, with a high success rate of anatomical correction. However, complications related to mesh and postoperative recurrence have always been a topic of concern in the field of this surgical procedure. This article elaborates and discusses the evolution and de-velopment history of sacrocolpopexy,as well as the related factors and treatment methods of mesh exposure and postoperative recurrence.
