Cervical herpes,one of the genital herpes(GH)infections caused by Herpes simplex virus(HSV)infection of the cervical region,is commonly referred to as cervical herpes virus infection.Infection with HSV of the cervix may also be associated with cervical cancer,in addition to cervicitis,cervical ulcer,and erosion.Additionally,it can lead to cervical re-modeling,causing premature birth and neontal herpes.Moreover,HSV-2 infection elevates the likelihood of transmission of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus(HIV).Understanding the etiology of Cervical herpes,as well as prompt diagnosis and treatment are essential to reduce the risk of contracting sexually transmitted diseases and to protect the health of individuals and communities.
