Polysaccharides and triterpenes contents of fruitbody of 12 Ganoderma lucidum strains were determined in order to choose special strains for extraction and processing. The results showed that the polysaccharides contents of the strains were different, and the polysaccharide contents of G. capense, Japanese G. lucidum, G. lucidum XIANZHI, G. lucidum JINGDA and G. applanatum were higher. While the triterpenes contents of G. lucidum JINGDA, G. lucidum 05, G. lucidum HUIZHOU, G. lucidum XINZHOU, G. applanatum, G. tsugae and Japanese G. lucidum were higher. There was no distinct correlation between polysaccharides and triterpenes contents of fruitbody of Ganoderma lucidum. These results provided the theoretical basis for the select and breed of special strains for processing, which Ganoderma lucidum polysaccharides and triterpenes contents are both higher.
