Comparison of the Effects of Ganoderma lucidum Spore Oil and Vitamin E Adding Ganoderma lucidum Spore Oil on Oxidative Damage of NRK-52E Cells
Ganoderma lucidum spore oil is an oily lipid substance extracted from G.lucidum spore powder, and its main active ingredients are unsaturated fatty acids and triterpenoid ganoderic acid. However, the unsaturated fatty acids in it are easily oxi-dized and volatile,so researchers have added vitamin E to solve the problem. At present,no systematic study on the antioxidant stress activity of G.lucidum spore oil supplemented with vitamin E has been reported. Therefore, two samples,G.lucidum spore oil(GLSO)and G.lucidum spore oil with 5%vitamin E(GLSO+VE),were selected to evaluate and compare their protective ef-fects against oxidative stress damage on H2O2-treated rat renal tubular epithelial NRK-52E cells. The experimental results showed that GLSO and GLSO+VE increased cell viability, increased the activity of antioxidant enzymes, and decreased oxidative products with statistical significance. The addition of vitamin E could significantly reduce the cytotoxic effect of G.lucidum spore oil and increase its antioxidant activity to a certain extent. This study preliminarily confirms the enhanced effect of adding vitamin E to G.lucidum spore oil in combating cellular oxidative damage, and provides more theoretical basis and supporting data for research on increasing the stability of G.lucidum spore oil by adding vitamin E.
