A New Record of Fungi Identified Based on DNA Sequencing in Hubei
During the 2022 survey on the diversity of wild fungi resources in Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture,Hubei Province, some newly distributed fungi were found. One of the fungi belonging to the genus Calvatia was collected from a coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest. It is solitary or scattered, and the fruit body is like a gyro, light brown when young, yellow or dark yellow when mature, turns orange to yellowish brown after drying. The surface is smooth at first, then slightly wrinkled. The outer covering is thin and crisp, orange to yellowish brown, and slightly wrinkled. The spores are spherical or ellip-soid,transparent,and have spikes. The capillitium is transparent and has septa.Through morphological and ITS molecular biolo-gy identification,it was identified as Calvatia holothuroides Rebriev.Up to now, there is no report on distribution of C.holothuroides in Hubei Province, and this discovery can be used as part of the series of new record species reports.
