To study the content changes of the main active ingredients in different growth stages of Ganoderma.sinense and their antioxidant activities.Using UV-Vis spectrophotometry,the concentrations of polysaccharides,triterpenoids,and sterols in various development stages of G.sinense were ascertained.DPPH and ABTS were then utilized to investigate the antioxidant properties of these substances.The contents of polysaccharides increased from the primordium to the umbrella stage(0.68%-0.83% )and reached the highest(0.83% )at the umbrella stage,while the contents decreased gradually from the umbrella stage to the mature stage(0.83%-0.67% ).The contents of triterpenoids and sterols were different from those of polysaccharides.The contents of triterpenoids and sterols gradually increased from the primary to the subumbrella browning stage(0.75%-1.14% ),and reached the highest(1.14% )at the subumbrella browning stage,and then began to decrease(1.14%-1.10% ).According to the results of DPPH and ABTS scavenging studies,the polysaccharides,triterpenoids and sterols of G.sinense exhibited potent antioxidant activity and were favorably linked with their concentration.The findings demonstrated that the contents of polysac-charides,triterpenoids and sterols varied dynamically and shown strong antioxidant properties.
