Objective To analyze the application effect of palliative care based on the theory of knowledge attitude practice model in patients with colorectal cancer undergoing chemotherapy. Methods A total of 120 patients with colorectal cancer admitted to the Second Hospital of Tianjin Medical University from June 2021 to June 2023 were selected as the study subjects. They were randomly divided into a KAP group with 60 patients who received palliative nursing based on the theory of knowledge attitude practice(KAP)model, and a control group with 60 cases who received routine nursing.Compare the degree of cancer pain, negative emotions,self-efficacy in cancer pain, and nutritional levels between two groups before and after nursing care. Results After nursing, the degree of cancer pain, negative emotions,self-efficacy of cancer pain, and nutritional level in both groups improved compared to before nursing, and the KAP group was significantly better than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Palliative nursing based on the theory of knowledge attitude practice model can effectively alleviate cancer pain, improve negative emotions, enhance self-efficacy in cancer pain, and improve nutritional levels in colorectal cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.
