Objective To explore the effect of Traditional Chinese Medicine intervention on patients with osteoporotic thoracolumbar vertebral compression fractures. Methods A total of 80 patients with osteoporotic thoracolumbar vertebral compression fractures admitted to Ningde Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from April 2019 to April 2022 were selected. All patients underwent percutaneous vertebroplasty treatment and were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 40 cases in each group using a double-blind method. The control group received routine nursing intervention, while the observation group received routine nursing combined with traditional Chinese medicine intervention. The hospitalization time, related indicators of nursing effectiveness and incidence of postoperative complications were compared between two groups. Results The hospitalization time of the observation group was significantly shorter than that of the control group, and the anxiety, pain level, spinal function score, and incidence of postoperative complications at discharge were all significantly lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion For patients with osteoporotic thoracolumbar compression fractures undergoing surgical treatment, traditional Chinese medicine intervention can shorten hospitalization time, reduce patient pain, improve negative emotions and spinal function, and reduce the incidence of postoperative complications. It is worth promoting and using.
