Study on Preparation and Properties of Fired Permeable Brick by Baiyun Obo Tailings and Converter Slag
In order to fully utilize the Baiyun Obo re-election tailings and the converter slag from Baotou Steel,a high-temperature calcination method was employed to prepare sintered permeable bricks using them as raw materials. The results showed that the selected aggregate grading of the steel slag is 5~10 mm∶2.5~5 mm∶0~2.5 mm=4∶3∶3.The optimal scheme included tailings content of 25%,molding pressure of 30 MPa,sintering temperature is 1180 ℃,and an insulation time of 50 minutes. At this condition, the binding phases of the permeable bricks are magnesium iron spinel phase and calcium silicate phase, exhibiting a compressive strength of 28 MPa and a permeability coefficient of 0.091 cm/s,both of which exceed the requirements of the national standard"Fired Common Bricks"(GB/T 5101-2017)for MU25(25 MPa)compressive strength and the requirements of"Permeable Paving Bricks & Permeable Paving Flags"(GB/T 25993-2010)for Grade A with a permeability coefficient of 0.02 cm/s.
