Comparative Study on the Glaze Color of Longquan Light Greenish-blue Celadon in the Southern Song and Yuan Dynasties
In order to study the coloring mechanism of Longquan light greenish-blue celadon glaze during the Southern Song and Yuan dynasties,a comparative analysis was conducted using colorimeter,XRF,XRD,Raman spectrometer, and XPS.The results show that the L*value of Southern Song Dynasty light greenish-blue celadon is larger than that from the Yuan Dynasty, while the values of a*and b*are smaller than those from the Yuan Dynasty light greenish-blue celadon. The firing temperature of the Southern Song Dynasty celadon is lower than that of the Yuan Dynasty. The opaque and jade-like appearance of the Longquan celadon is mainly caused by the influence of small and dense bubbles and a large number of quartz crystals in the glaze layer. The chemical color of Fe2O3 dominates the color of Longquan celadon, and the ratio of Fe2+to Fe3+in Southern Song Dynasty light greenish-blue celadon is higher than that of Yuan Dynasty light greenish-blue celadon. This is the main reason why Southern Song Dynasty light greenish-blue celadon is bluish and Yuan Dynasty light greenish-blue celadon is greenish.
