Study on the Effects of Bone Ash and Its Addition Amount on the Performance of Calcium-based Household Porcelain
Calcium-based household porcelain was prepared using kaolin, calcite, and alumina as the main raw materials and feldspar and bone ash as fluxing agents. The influence of bone ash and its addition amount on the phase composition, sintering performance, and translucency of the calcium-based household porcelain was investigated. The results showed that bone ash could effectively promote the sintering of samples, enhance the flexural strength of samples, and increase their translucency. When the addition amount of bone ash is 4 wt%,the comprehensive performance of the samples is optimal. The main crystal phase of the samples is anorthite, with a small amount of β-tricalcium phosphate. The flexural strength of the samples is 103 MPa,the water absorption rate is 0.18%,the bulk density is 2.24 g/cm3,and the translucency is good.
