The Evolution of Women's Roles in Jingdezhen Traditional Ceramic Industry
Jingdezhen,as the center of porcelain-making during the Ming and Qing Dynasties,boasts an important position in history.In the traditional porcelain industry,men as the main body of porcelain-making,were in charge of the steering wheel and the heir of technology,and women were degraded into the edge in the technology field.However,the role of women in the history of ceramic development cannot be ignored.In different historical periods and era contexts,under the influence of technology,education,and social concepts,the degree of participation in the process of ceramics is different.From the perspectives of social history and the history of craftsmanship,the evolution of women's roles in the process from the Ming and Qing Dynasties to con-temporary Jingdezhen porcelain-making was combed with the purpose of providing new material for a comprehensive under-standing of the role of women in social development.
