Looking to the Sky for Color:Discussions on the Cultural Attributes of Ru Ware of Northern Song Dynasty
The culture of Ru ware is a"Chinese symbol"that combines material attributes,artistic charm and spiritual connotation in Chinese civilization and Chinese stories.This article takes the event of Ru wares entering the palace in the Northern Song Dynasty as the starting point,and analyzes the cultural foundation and attributes of model Ru wares based on the political and religious orientation of the Northern Song Dynasty,especially Emperor Huizong's dominance of the Taoist Shenxiao school,and the divine connotation of the Ru ware's material,the Taoist tendency in the craftsmanship,the virtues and political characteristics of the azure glaze"taking color from the sky"and being"clear both on the outside and inside";furthermore,it puts forward certain innovative ideas on related issues such as royal ceramics in the Tang and Song Dynasties.
