Sodium polyacrylate(PAANa)with a viscosity average molecular weight from 1500 to 3000 is synthesized by a facile,easily operated route of water solution polymerization.The result shows that with the increase of the dosage of initiator and chain transfer agent,the relative molecular weight decreases.By using PAANa as water-reducing reagent,the water-reducing efficiency reaches 22.8%,demonstrating its potential application in water-reducing materials.
