AIM: To study the chemical constituents from the aerial parts of Thalictrumfortunei. METHODS: Various column chromatographic methods were carried out for the isolation and purification of the compounds from the EtOH extract of T. fortunei. Their structures were elucidated by the combined analysis of UV, IR, MS, 1H and 13C NMR spectral data. RUSULTS: Eleven compounds were obtained, and their structures were elucidated as O-methylthalicberine (1), 24S-lanost-9(11)-ene-3β, 16β, 24, 25, 30-pentaol (2), cholesterol (3), β-sitosterol (4), stigmas-terol (5), stigmasterol 3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (6), spinasterol 3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (7), daucostero (8), sucrose (9), palatinol C (10) and 4-butyloxyphenol (11), respectively. CONCLUSION: All compounds were isolated from this plant for the first time.
