Privacy Dilemmas and Response Strategies in Information Services of the Data Intelligence Era—From the Perspective of Privacy Relinquishment
The"allow access to XX"option in various apps of the data intelligence era serves as an exchange condition for users to obtain personalized services.The privacy relinquishment behavior of users is a prerequisite for obtaining accurate information services in the data intelligence era.New information service models,such as smart wearable devices,medical AI,and intelligent traffic management systems,have brought many conveniences to individuals,society,and the country,achieving a win-win situation among multiple stakeholders.However,it has become a common trend for information service platforms to obtain privacy permissions and share and analyze data with third parties.Various obscure and difficult-to-understand privacy policies and mandatory consent clauses have gradually caused users to lose control of their private data,and the ubiquitous"third eye"has gradually raised privacy concerns among users.The privacy dilemmas caused by the win-win situation under the relinquishment of privacy cannot be underestimated.This article begins with an exploration of user privacy relinquishment and employs grounded theory and inductive research methods to delve into the privacy category within information services of data intelligence era.It thoroughly examines the privacy dilemmas stemming from privacy relinquishment and suggests corresponding strategies.Firstly,it systematically elaborates on the theoretical and practical aspects of privacy against the backdrop of the modern era.Secondly,it analyzes the concept of privacy relinquishment and constructs a privacy relinquishment boundary model centered on user privacy,comprising five dimensions and four quadrants.By integrating the privacy category,privacy relinquishment boundary model,and the information service process in the data intelligence era,the study scrutinizes the privacy dilemmas in information services of data intelligence era.Finally,the targeted response strategies are proposed.By analyzing privacy relinquishment,this article aims to help delve into the underlying causes of privacy dilemmas,advance the development of privacy-related theories,and empower information services and privacy governance in the data intelligence era.2 figs.3 tabs.44 refs.
