Digital Transformation of Public Culture Abroad:Research Topics,Theoretical Framework and Prospect
Digital technologies,represented by big data,artificial intelligence,etc.,have promoted the digital transformation of public culture around the world.Sorting out foreign research can help to grasp the overall development of international digital transformation of public culture research and provide reference for practice and research in related fields in China.This study conducted a systematic review on 74 research articles on digital transformation of public culture,which were published since the new century,then built an integrated research framework,and forecast future research directions.The research finds that the current research topics focus on the connotation of digital transformation of public culture,the antecedent conditions of transformation,the process mechanism of transformation,and the impact and effectiveness of transformation.The connotation of digital transformation of public culture is that public cultural institutions such as libraries,archives,museums,and cultural centers cooperate with multiple entities to use digital and intelligent technologies to carry out a continuous process of resource integration,service innovation,and organizational management transformation.The ultimate goal is to optimize the user participation experience in the digitalization of public culture and enhance the well-being of digital culture.It features focusing on user needs,technology-driven,and institutional cooperation and integration.External environment,information technology and organizational management dimensions are the antecedent conditions.The digital transformation of public cultural institutions is a process of continuous evolution.Through a transforming mechanism of resource integration,crowdsourcing interaction,and cooperation and collaboration,it optimizes user experience,improves service efficiency,and enhances social welfare.Foreign achievements show the characteristics of diverse and comprehensive research perspectives,integrated application of research methods,and the integration of virtual and real research situations.From the perspectives of system theory and complexity,an integrated research framework for the digital transformation of public culture is constructed.The future direction of digital transformation of public culture lies in the exploration of the core conditions of public culture transformation from a user-centered perspective,the in-depth theoretical exploration of the digital transformation process of public culture from a multi-collaborative perspective,and the design and selection of implementation paths for the digital transformation of public culture oriented to local contexts.This research will provide useful reference to support the smooth transformation and high-quality development of public cultural institutions in China.1 fig.48 refs.
