Analysis of Volatile Components in Black Pepper Essential Oil Based on GC-MS Retention Index
In order to analyze the volatile components in essential oil from black pepper produced in Hainan and provide scientific basis for the public to further develop and utilize black pepper, the black pepper essential oil is prepared by steam distillation method, and then essential oil components are analyzed qualitatively by gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy(GC-MS)combined with retention index.A total of 27 kinds of main volatile components are identified from black pepper essential oil.The components with higher content are β-caryophyllene(23.91%),limonene(17.23%),3-carene(19.30%),β-pinene(7.83%)and caryophyllene oxide(3.01%).The identification of δ-cadinene,limonene,cis-sabinol,cyclohexene,3-methyl-6-(1-methylethylidene)-(terpinolene),cyclohexene,1-methyl-4-(1-methylethylidene)-(terpinolene)and P-cymene makes the qualitative results more accurate and reliable.
