The sports overall coordination ability is an important component of sports global governance capacity.China's further participation in the reform and construction of the sports global governance system requires a clear understanding of sports overall coordination ability. From the perspective of sports global governance, this study analyzed the connotation of sports overall coordination ability, and reviewed the current situation of sports overall coordination ability in China. It was found that sports overall coordination ability included two parts:sports overall planning ability and sports coordination and cooperation ability. There were some problems in China's sports overall planning ability, such as unclear expression of global governance goals in sports, unreasonable allocation of global governance resources in sports, and insufficient imple-mentation ability of global governance goals in sports;the sports coordination and cooperation abili-ty had problems such as lack of cohesion with international common interest groups, low influ-ence in international sports organizations, and poor coordination of domestic multiple gover-nance subjects and resources.Accordingly, the specific strategies to improve China's sports overall coordination ability are proposed:make clear the participation goal of global sports gov-ernance,advocate the concept of cultural diversity and sharing;accumulate the international sports resources and optimize the allocation of domestic resources with the help of the Belt and Road Initiative;participate in the formulation of global sports governance rules and improve the su-pervision mechanism;build multilateral platforms to strengthen communication and cooperation with countries;cultivate relevant talents and transport talents to international sports organizations to enhance international influence;establish dedicated sports coordination departments or mechanisms.
