This study reviewed the theory and influencing factors of postural adjustments under dual tasks,and it summarized the applications of dual-task training in clinical practice and com-petitive sports.With regard to the cognitive load on postural adjustments,this study discussed the dual-task theories from three perspectives:capacity sharing,information bottlenecks,and cross-talk.The present study primarily investigated the role of multisensory integration on postural adjustments and the impact of age on this process,among various influencing factors.For the first time,it highlighted the role of exercise in postural adjustments under dual tasks and projected the potential applications of dual tasks in competitive sports.Dual tasks were primarily used in clinical rehabilitation training for patients with stroke,Parkinson's disease,and multiple sclerosis.
