Telesurgery is a novel way to implement long-distance surgery by using communication technology and robotic system.In recent years,with the development and improvement of communication technology and domestic robotic surgery systems,telesurgery has developed rapidly in China,and has been applied in urology,hepatobiliary surgery,orthopedics and other fields.However,there are few reports in the field of gastrointestinal surgery.Based on the previous practice of remote gastrointestinal surgery between Beijing and Sanya,we review and elaborate on the application status and development prospects of telesurgery in the field of gastrointestinal surgery.
