Historical Logic and Value of"Red Architectural Heritage"in Jiangxi
Jiangxi's"red architectural heritage"is numerous and widely distributed,but there are few systematic summaries of existing research.Using research methods of history and sociology,this article summarizes the spatial and temporal scope and value characteristics of the"red architectural heritage"in Jiangxi from the perspective of architecture.The article aims to enrich the type research and academic system of"red cultural heritage"protection,and provide theoretical basis for heritage recognition and protection work.The"red architectural heritage"in Jiangxi can be divided into three categories according to its source:borrowed,continued use after transformation,and newly constructed.Most of the heritage is borrowed or transformed from existing buildings,such as residen-tial ancestral halls,academies,temples,churches and schools.Therefore,the"red heritage"is a panoramic presentation of the old Chinese society,which profoundly explains the historical motives of the revolution.From the perspective of the organizational form of architectural heritage,it includes red industrial heritage,red historical urban heritage,red cultural route heritage,and red rural heri-tage.Compared with previous studies,this article regards the"red architectural heritage"in Jiangxi as a whole system.It believes that various types of red heritage such as industry,town,cultural route and rural areas inherit from each other and reflect the historical log-ic of China's revolution from the workers-peasant movement to armed struggle,and from urban center theory to rural encirclement of cities.At the value level,the intrinsic value of"red architectural heritage"includes emotional value based on red memory carrier and the Chinese national identity,historical value based on physical records and modern social landscape,as well as scientific value based on evolution of various modern architecture;and external value is manifested as patriotism education value based on revolutionary scene immersive experience and economic development value based on urban modernization and rural revitalization.This article reveals to some extent the internal connection between Jiangxi's"red architectural heritage,"demonstrates the hier-archy and diversity of heritage,provides theoretical support for cooperation and common development in regional heritage protection,and is also a useful supplement to the study of revolutionary history.At the level of publicity and education,by clarifying the historical context and value characteristics of red heritage,it can stimulate public enthusiasm for patriotism and love for the Party,and enhance their sense of social responsibility and historical mission.
