Application of Quality Collaborative Management Chain in Reusing Surgical Instruments in Disinfection Supply Centers
Objective To explore the application of Quality Chain Management(QCM)model in the quality traceability of reusable surgical instruments in Central sterile supply department(CSSD).Methods A total of 105 reusable surgical instruments from the Second People's Hospital of Qinzhou from January 2022 to January 2023 were selected as the research subjects.According to the management mode,they were divided into an observation group(53 instruments)and a control group(52 instruments).The observation group was managed using the QCM mode,while the control group was managed using the conventional process.Observe and compare the quality compliance,occurrence of adverse events,and quality control of two groups of reusable surgical instruments.Results The qualified rate of recycled surgical instruments in the observation group(98.11%),the qualified rate of packaging(100%),and the qualified rate of distribution(98.11%)were all higher than those in the control group(88.46%,92.30%,86.53%)(P<0.05).The qualified cleaning rate(98.11%),disinfection qualified rate(100%),and sterilization qualified rate(98.11%)of reusable surgical instruments in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(96.53%,86.53%,84.61%)(P<0.05).The observation group had 1 missing instrument in the sterilization package,2 incorrect dressings in the sterilization package,and the control group had 3 missing instruments in the sterilization package,3 incorrect labeling of the sterilization package,and 4 incorrect dressings in the sterilization package.The total incidence of adverse events in the observation group(5.66%)was lower than that in the control group(19.23%)(P<0.05).The observation group had higher scores for completion quality,service quality,and satisfaction compared to the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The QCM model used in the quality traceability of CSSD reusable surgical instruments can effectively improve the qualification rates of recycling,packaging,distribution,cleaning,disinfection,and sterilization of reused surgical instruments,reduce the incidence of adverse events,and improve the quality control level of surgical instruments.
