Narrative-Oriented Doctor-Patient Communication Promotes Clinical Practice of the Management of Diabetic Patients
Diabetes has become a major challenge for China's healthcare system.The physiological-psycho-social medicine model has been integrated throughout the diagnosis and treatment of diabetic patients.Narrative medicine is a medical model that incorporates the process of listening to and perceiving patients'disease stories in disease diagnosis and treatment and infuses emotional elements into medical treatment.This paper incorporates the narrative doctor-patient communication model into the comprehensive management of diabetic patients,and the important role of narrative medicine in the cognition of diabetic patients to the disease,the diet control of diabetic patients,the compliance of diabetic patients to the treatment plan and the weight management is introduced.This paper expounds the important role of narrative medicine in the diagnosis and treatment of diabetic patients.Narration-oriented doctor-patient communication can improve patients'awareness of diseases and enhance their self-management ability.It is an important embodiment of medical humanistic care in medical practice to enhance the empathic ability of medical staff and patients and help doctors make more favorable diagnosis and treatment decisions.
