Detection Situation of Diarrheagenic Escherichia Coli in Food in a District of Quanzhou City
Objective To study the diarrheagenic Escherichia coli detection conditions in the fair trade market stalls and the supermarkets of a district of Quanzhou city. Methods A total of 100 food samples collected from supermarkets and market stalls in Licheng district,Quanzhou city from January to December 2021 were selected as the research objects. The microorganism examination was performed according to National Criteria for Food Safety,Food Microbe Testing of Diarrheagenic Escherichia coli(GB 4789-2016).Diarrheagenic Escherichia coli microorganism and virulence gene examinations were performed.According to the final examination results,Escherichia coli detection rates in the different food samples were recorded. Results A total of 20 food samples were discovered with Escherichia coli(20.00%).There were 6 strains of entero toxigenic Escherichia coli(ETEC),accounting for 30.00%.There were 5 strains of entero pathogenic Escherichia coli(EPEC),accounting for 25.00%.There were 5 strains of entero hemorrhagic Escherichia coli(EHEC),accounting for 25.00%.There were 4 strains of entero invasive Escherichia coli(EIEC),accounting for 20.00%.Escherichia coli detection rates from the livestock meat, poultry meat, cold dish, marine product and vegetables were 38.89%,45.00%,5.00%,10.00%and 4.55%,Escherichia coli detection rates from the livestock meat and poultry meat were higher than the other food types(P<0.05).Among 20 isolated Escherichia coli strains,5 EHEC strains were found with O157:H7 serum agglutination, one O157:H7 strain from the mutton was carried with eaeA,hly and SLT2 virulence genes, the resting 4 O157:H7 strains were found with negative eaeA,hly,SLT and SLT2 virulence genes. Conclusion Escherichia coli and its virulence genes can be effectively discovered by the microorganism examination. Therefore, the relevant government departments shall strengthen the health supervision to ensure the people's food safety.
