Research Progress on Current Care Status of Family Caregivers for Disabled Elderly People in China
With the deepening of the aging process in China,the number of disabled and semi-disabled elderly people is gradually increasing.Disability not only harms the physical and mental health of the elderly,but also causes serious burden to the family and society.In our country,the traditional concept of old-age care and the realistic plight of old-age care cause the vast majority of disabled elderly people to choose to receive long-term care at home.However,the characteristics of disabled elderly people determine the long-term and arduous nature of care,resulting in family caregivers facing heavy burdens such as physical,psychological and economic,which seriously affects the quality of life and care of caregivers.From the perspective of supporting family caregivers,this paper summarizes the current situation of family caregivers of disabled elderly in China,comprehensively understands the current situation,caring ability and caring predicament of disabled elderly caregivers,and proposes to carry forward Chinese traditional culture,advocate filial piety identification,and increase caregivers'willingness to care.Accelerate community development and support caregivers in health skills and respite services.Establish a caregiver care quality evaluation system and accelerate the establishment of caregiver support laws,provide economic compensation system for caregivers and other suggestions,and provide a reference for the establishment of long-term care system for disabled elderly people in China.
