Discussion on the Value of Health Education in the Prevention and Control of Tuberculosis in Schools
Objective To study the effect of health education in school tuberculosis prevention and control. Methods A survey was conducted in a high school from January 2021 to December 2022,and 400 students in the third grade of the school were selected for research.Classes 1-5 adopted conventional campus disease prevention and control management(200 people),and classes 6-10 adopted health education disease prevention and control management model(200 people). The observation indicators were health knowledge level, implementation of prevention and control measures, occurrence of new tuberculosis, satisfaction of school students and family members. Results The knowledge of tuberculosis prevention and control of students in Class 6-10 was higher than that of students in Class 1-5,with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The implementation of prevention and control measures among students in Class 6-10 was higher than that among students in Class 1-5,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of new tuberculosis among students in Class 6-10 was 0,lower than that of 3 students in Class 1-5(1.50%),but the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).There were 15 cases(7.50%)of tuberculosis voluntarily reported by students in Class 6-10,which was higher than 4 cases(2.00%)of students in Class 1-5,with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion The use of health education model in school tuberculosis prevention and control can improve students'health knowledge level, strengthen the implementation effect of tuberculosis prevention and control measures, effectively prevent the occurrence of new tuberculosis, improve their active reporting rate, and improve the prognosis of students.
