Investigation on Familiar Smell of Healthy People in a 3A Hospital in Fujian
Objective To investigate the familiar smell of healthy people in a 3A hospital in Fujian.Methods Healthy adults,who volunteered to conduct olfactory investigation in the department of otorhinolaryngology head and neck surgery,Quanzhou First Hospital from June to August,2022 were recruited and given 16 kinds of odorants for odor identification test.The Olfactory Questionnaire of Quanzhou First Hospital was completed.By statistical method,eight familiar odors of healthy population were identified.A total of 200 subjects were included in the survey.The Olfactory Questionnaire of Quanzhou First Hospital consisted of a series of multiple choice questions for choosing odor and odor intensity,with a full score of 48.Results According to the test results,it came to the conclusion that garlic,coffee,jasmine,mint,cantaloupe,banana,passion fruit,fennel and grape were the most familiar odors.The normal olfactory values for the 16 odor dosage forms in the subject population were(34.22±5.45)points and 41.0 points at the 10th percentile.Conclusion The rapid olfactory screening test is suitable for popularization in other regions of China and establishment of local odor test test.It can confirm the familiar odor and olfactory normal value in different regions through future nationwide large-scale population screening.It can also establish qualitative and quantitative criteria for olfactory diagnosis of people in different regions,objectify and standardize the diagnosis of clinical olfactory dysfunction.
