Objective To explore the clinical effect of wax therapy combined with trichpaste in the treatment of acute ankle sprain.Methods A total of 60 object selection for Zhoushan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine between January to December 2022 diagnosed with acute ankle sprain patients with 60 cases,which were divided into two groups using the number table method,with 30 cases in each group.The control group only received external application of tricolor cream,and cold compress was added within 24 hours.On the basis of the control group's treatment plan,the observation group received wax therapy for patients 24 hours after sprain.Both groups received a 7 days treatment plan as one course of treatment,with two consecutive courses of treatment.Clinical efficacy after treatment and compare the improvement of pain numerical rating scale(NRS score),swelling score,and ankle joint score(Kofoed)between the two groups before and after treatment were evaluated.Results The total effective rates of the observation group was 96.67%,higher than the control group's of 76.67%,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the NRS score,swelling score,and Kofoed score between groups before treatment(P>0.05).After 1 and 2 weeks of treatment,the observation group had significantly lower NRS scores and swelling scores,as well as higher Kofoed scores.The differences in various indicators between the two groups at different times after treatment were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The curative effect of wax therapy combined with tricolor paste in the treatment of acute ankle sprain is accurate,which can quickly and effectively improve the pain and swelling of patients,and promote the recovery of ankle joint function.
